Mispar Hechrachi (Standard Value)
Mispar Hechrachi ("Standard Value") is the default and most widely cited Hebrew gematria system. Each letter carries the value of its position in a ones-tens-hundreds structure: א (Aleph) through ט (Tet) count 1-9, י (Yod) through צ (Tsadi) count 10-90 in steps of ten, and ק (Qof) through ת (Tav) count 100-400 in steps of one hundred. Final (sofit) letter forms use the same value as their base letter. This is the system behind the most famous gematria identities, such as חי (chai, "life") = 18.
Mispar Siduri (Ordinal Value)
Mispar Siduri ("Ordinal Value") ignores the ones-tens-hundreds structure entirely and simply counts each letter's position in the 22-letter Hebrew alphabet, from א=1 to ת=22. Final forms use the same ordinal as their base letter. This produces much smaller totals than Standard Value and is often used to cross-check whether two words are related independent of the larger Standard-Value system.
Mispar Gadol (Full/Sofit Value)
Mispar Gadol ("Full Value" or "Sofit Value") is identical to Mispar Hechrachi except for how it treats the five Hebrew letters that have a special final form when they appear at the end of a word (ך, ם, ן, ף, ץ). Instead of reusing the base letter's value, these final forms are assigned their own extended values: ך=500, ם=600, ן=700, ף=800, ץ=900 — continuing the counting pattern beyond ת=400.
Mispar Katan (Reduced Value)
Mispar Katan ("Reduced Value" or "Small Value") takes each letter's Standard Value and reduces it to a single digit, most simply by dropping any trailing zeros (so ק=100 becomes 1, and ר=200 becomes 2). It is the Hebrew-alphabet parallel to English Full Reduction / Pythagorean numerology, and is popular for reducing large word totals down to a single meaningful digit.
Atbash Cipher
Atbash is one of the oldest known substitution ciphers, first attested in Hebrew scripture itself (e.g. "Sheshach" in Jeremiah is Atbash for "Bavel," Babylon). Each letter is swapped with its mirror-image partner across the alphabet — the first letter swaps with the last, the second with the second-to-last, and so on — and the substituted text is then valued using Standard Gematria.
Albam Cipher
Albam ("AlBaM") is a substitution cipher that splits the 22-letter alphabet into two halves of eleven letters each and swaps each letter with its counterpart in the other half (the 1st letter swaps with the 12th, the 2nd with the 13th, and so on). Like Atbash, the resulting substituted letters are then valued using Standard Gematria.
