About GematriaCalculator

GematriaCalculator was built on a simple premise: the gematria calculators people already use are either thin database lookups with no explanation, or feature-rich tools that hide their best functionality behind a paywall. We wanted a calculator that is simultaneously free, comprehensive, and honest — one that shows its work and cites its sources.

Editorial policy

We treat gematria as what it demonstrably is: a real, well-documented historical and religious practice with deep roots in Hebrew and Greek textual tradition. We are equally direct that using gematria to predict events or "decode" hidden meaning in the news has no scientific support. We write for both believers and skeptics, and we try never to blur the line between "this calculation is mathematically correct" and "this numeric coincidence is meaningful" — the first is a fact, the second is a matter of tradition and interpretation. Sourcing standards

Historical and religious claims on this site (dates, textual attributions, named figures and movements) are written to match mainstream academic and reference consensus. Where a claim is genuinely debated among scholars (such as the exact identity behind "666" in the Book of Revelation), we say so explicitly rather than presenting one interpretation as settled fact. Where we are not confident enough in a cipher's exact values to publish it as a live calculator — as with English Qaballa — we say that too, rather than guessing.

Calculation accuracy

Every cipher on this site is implemented as open, auditable code rather than a black-box lookup. If you believe a calculation is incorrect, we want to know — accuracy is the foundation of everything else this site claims about itself.

Who writes and reviews this site

Pages on this site are currently written and calculation-checked by the GematriaCalculator Editorial Team. Reviewed for calculation accuracy and sourcing by our editorial team. See /about/ for our editorial policy and sourcing standards.

We're actively working to add a named contributor with a genuine background in Hebrew/Judaic studies, linguistics, or comparative religion, and will credit them here and on individual articles once confirmed. We'd rather disclose an editorial-team byline honestly than publish an invented persona with fabricated credentials — a fake byline would undermine the exact trust this page exists to establish.
